The International Forum on Multimodal Transportation, organized by the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in collaboration with the Alliance of Logistics Centers and Cargo Carriers and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, successfully took place in Tashkent on 12 November 2025.
The Forum was held upon the initiative of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev voiced in Bishkek and Gabala summits of the OTS.
The Forum brought together more than 400 participants, including representatives from the public and private sectors, leading transport and logistics companies, and businesses from across the Turkic region and beyond. It served as a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing, constructive discussions, and collaborative initiatives aimed at advancing multimodal transport routes.
In his welcoming remarks, H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS, emphasized that such platforms are proving valuable in bridging governments and industry, generating practical solutions, and improving coordination across strategic corridors.
Secretary General highlighted the importance of the Middle Corridor - not only for distance and efficiency but also for cargo security and route diversification. He noticed that the Middle Corridor has already shown remarkable growth and, in 2024 cargo volumes reached 4.5 million tons, up from 2.7 million tons in 2023, and are expected to reach 10 million tons by 2027.
The Forum featured keynote addresses by the Ministers of Transport of the Turkic States, heads of international organizations, as well as leading companies and industry experts. Participants engaged in multiple panel sessions, including:
- The Importance of the Middle Corridor for Ensuring Transport Connectivity: Transport Routes, Prospects for Establishing Joint Operators, Logistics Centers, and Hubs;
- Development of Port and Land Infrastructure, Maritime Transport: Global Trends, Regional Challenges, and Transformation of Logistics Chains;
- Transition to Electronic Documentation: Implementation and Integration in International Transport;
- Border Crossing and Simplification of Procedures: Challenges and Solutions.
The event reaffirmed the commitment of the Turkic States to foster regional transport connectivity, modernize logistics networks, and promote sustainable, efficient, and collaborative multimodal transport solutions.
