Operation
Organization's main decisive body is the Council of Heads of States, which is chaired by the country assuming the Chairmanship-in-office (rotation according to the alphabetical order). The current chair is Uzbekistan. The activities of the Organization are coordinated and supported by its Secretariat located in Istanbul.
The Organization of Turkic States also functions as an umbrella organization for existing cooperation mechanisms such as the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA), International Turkic Academy, Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
