On 14 March 2025, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Sadyr Japarov, in Bishkek.
At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary General Omuraliev warmly welcomed the signing of the Treaty on the State Border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan on 13 March 2025, commending the diplomatic efforts and dialog in achieving this historic milestone.
Following this, Secretary General Omuraliev expressed his appreciation for Kyrgyzstan’s active and committed Chairmanship of the OTS and provided President Japarov with an update on the progress of key initiatives within the Organization.
The discussions focused on the implementation of decisions made at the OTS 11th Summit held in Bishkek on 6 November 2024 and the preparation for major events scheduled in 2025 under Kyrgyzstan’s Chairmanship. Particular attention was given to the upcoming first-ever meeting of the Heads of Government/Vice Presidents of OTS Member States, aimed at deepening economic and sectoral cooperation.
Both sides underscored the importance of enhancing regional integration among Turkic states, with a focus on economic collaboration, digital transformation, transport connectivity, and sustainable development. They also highlighted the necessity of strengthening the institutional capacity of the OTS Secretariat and fostering closer ties within the Turkic world.
Building on the discussions, President Japarov reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to effectively leading the OTS during its Chairmanship and ensuring the successful implementation of joint initiatives and key events.
