On 17 December 2025 in Washington, D.C., H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), met with H.E. Congresswoman Carol Miller, Member of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Committee on Ways and Means, representing the State of West Virginia.
The meeting focused on the economic dimension of cooperation between the United States and the OTS region. The Secretary General briefed Congresswoman Miller on the OTS’s mandate, priority areas, and its efforts to advance trade, investment, and regional connectivity among its Member and Observer States.
Congresswoman Miller expressed interest in the economic potential of the Turkic region and underscored the relevance of dialogue on trade policy, supply chains, and investment frameworks, particularly in the context of the Committee on Ways and Means’ responsibilities.
The discussion also touched upon opportunities for developing practical engagement between the OTS and U.S. stakeholders, including legislative bodies, with a view to fostering mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
