H.E. Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), visited the Nordic International University (NIU) as part of his trip to Uzbekistanon 15 November 2025 in Tashkent, upon the initiative of the NIU leadership.

During the visit, Secretary General Omuraliev met with H.E. Alisher Jurayev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NIU, and Dr. Sherzod Mustafaqulov, Rector of the University.

The Secretary General congratulated the leadership of NIU on its recent membership in the Turkic Universities Union (TURKUNIB) and encouraged them to actively cooperate with the Tashkent International University (TIU) during TIU’s Chairpersonship of TURKUNIB for the 2025–2026 term.

It should be noted that NIU became a member of TURKUNIB during the 8th General Assembly, held on 15 October 2025 in Tashkent.

The parties also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in the field of education and to enhance academic partnerships among Turkic countries. They agreed to implement joint projects and programs, particularly within the framework of the Orkhun Exchange Program of TURKUNIB.

Various projects currently being implemented by NIU were presented to the Secretary General, and both sides expressed readiness to cooperate on the development and implementation of educational initiatives in the near future.
