H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), delivered a keynote address at the Opening Ceremony of Cleantech Days 2025, held in Istanbul in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and TÜBİTAK on 1 September 2025

Cleantech Days is the annual global forum of the UNIDO’s Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP), supported by the Global Environment Facility. It is a platform where clean technology entrepreneurs, ecosystem enablers, policymakers, investors and development partners come together to showcase innovation, exchange knowledge and build partnerships for sustainable and inclusive industrial development.
In his remarks, the Secretary General noted that the Joint Declaration, signed in 2024 together with UNIDO Director General Mr. Gerd Müller, has set a solid foundation for cooperation in clean energy, circular economy, SME support and digital transformation. He underlined that today’s OTS Special Session at Cleantech Days represents a concrete step forward, moving from words to action and demonstrating how regional cooperation can accelerate cleantech innovation and sustainable industrial development.
The Secretary General Omuraliev also highlighted the strong participation of high-level representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Türkiye demonstrating the political will of the Turkic States to advance cleantech solutions globally.
Cleantech Days 2025 marks the first time such an international forum is hosted in the Turkic region, providing a platform to strengthen partnerships, foster innovation, and explore pathways for scaling up clean technologies.
