The 4th Meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the OTS was held on 25 June 2025 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic
The Meeting was hosted by H.E. Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, and attended by H.E. Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Baglan Bekbauov, Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Ahmet Bağcı, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Kakhramon Yuldashev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Sandor Dorogi, Ambassador of Hungary in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as H.E. Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of the Turkic States (OTS).
The meeting was dedicated to theme “Organic Agriculture Management in the Organization of Turkic States: The Basis of Food Security and Health of the Nation”.
During the Meeting, the Secretary General of the OTS delivered a speech highlighting the importance of deepening agricultural cooperation among the Member States and Observers in order to achieve food security, strengthen climate resilience, and promote innovation in the agro-industrial sector of the Turkic World. He also emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of strategic initiatives outlined by the Heads of State, including the Digital Agro Data Platform and “OTS-Made” and others.
The Ministers exchanged views on key issues in the field of agriculture, with a particular focus on organic agriculture, sustainable farming practices, seed cooperation, and regional value chain development. They expressed support for the ongoing work of the Drought Prevention Institute of the OTS and welcomed enhanced public-private engagement through the Turkic Business Agro-Forum.
The Ministers signed the Joint Communique of the 4th Meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the OTS which among other outcomes, endorsed the Strategic Roadmap for Agricultural Cooperation within the OTS and declared the city of Cholpon-Ata as the Agro Capital of the Turkic World for the period of September 2025 to September 2026.
The next 5th Meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the OTS will be held in the Republic of Türkiye in 2026.
