During the session, which was opened by Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of Turkic Council, Ahmet Arslan Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Turkey and Ramin Guluzade Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Abdysamat Sagymbayev Deputy Minister of the Committee of Information Technology And Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, Vitaliy Yaroshenko Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Public Control of Communication, Informatization and Mass Media under Ministry of ICT of Kazakhstan delivered their statements.
Member States emphasized on the importance of ICT and how it has importance in everyday life from economy to security. Parties also touched upon various issues discussed within 4 ad-hoc working Groups which was held yesterday.
During the general discussions Secretary General Hasanov touched upon Cyber Security and threats that Member States are facing. He informed that cyber security market has reached 75 billion USD 2015 and expected to hit 170 billion USD in 2020 adding that cyber security was incorporated into NATO’s new strategic concept as a new theater of conflict.
Ministers highlighted the importance of developing cooperation through 4 ad-hoc working groups.
Regarding the determination of place and the date of the 3 Meeting of Ministers it was agreed that Kazakhstan will inform the Secretariat through diplomatic channels about the place and date of the this Meeting.
Upon completion of discussions Secretary General Hasanov signed Agreed Minutes of the Second Ministerial Meeting.
Furthermore, a family photo was taken with participation of Ministers and participants.
Deputy Secretary General Omer Kocaman, Project Directors Farid Damirli, Ozge Pan, Zhildyz Uzakova, Ali Civiler, Yedil Myrzakhanov as well as Head of Protocol Emre Yurdakul and Research Expert Dastan Almen attended the meeting.
