At the 1st meeting of the Ministers in charge of Transport of the Member States held on 3 July 2013 in Baku, Ministers agreed to establish a “Coordination Council” at the level of Deputy Ministers as an intermediary organ between the Working Group and the Ministerial Meeting.
The task of this high level Council is to decide on unresolved issues of the Working Group, as well as it is authorized to solve practical problems encountered by the forwarders on the ground. The 1st meeting of the Coordination Council was hosted by the Secretariat on 12-13 December 2013 in Istanbul. The 2nd meeting of the Coordination Council at the level of Deputy Ministers will also be hosted by the Secretariat on 27 January 2015 in Istanbul.
Furthermore, the 6th meeting of the Working Group on Development of Transport will be held on 26 January 2015.
Parties will discuss, among others, establishing a multi-modal transport infrastructure among the Member States, deepening the relations among the Sister Ports of Baku, Aktau and Samsun, coming up with practical solutions to the problems faced by the forwarders on the ground, and boosting relations between the Turkic Council and the other international organizations specialized in the field of transport.
