2nd meeting of the Coordination Council on Transport at Deputy Ministers-level was hosted by the Secretariat on 27 January 2015 in Istanbul.
Parties discussed issues, among others, establishing a multi-modal transport infrastructure among the Member States, furthering the relations among the Sister Ports of Baku, Aktau and Samsun, coming up with practical solutions to the problems faced by the forwarders on the ground, and boosting relations between the Turkic Council and the other international organizations specialized in the field of transport. They also endorsed the Rules of Procedure of the Coordination Council.
At the meeting where Parties exchanged information on the latest status of their national transports projects along the Central Transport Corridor, the possibility of conducting a demonstration-run of a block train along the Central Corridor, in cooperation with the public and private sectors, after the completion of the national projects of the Member States was discussed.
Parties agreed that the 7th meeting of the Working Group on the Development of Transport will be hosted by the Secretariat in May 2015.
Turkey reiterated that it will host the 3rd meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the Turkic Council, along with the 8th meeting of the Working Group on the Development of Transport, in 2015.
The Secretary General of the Turkic Counci, Ramil Hasanov, hosted the participants of the meeting of the Coordination Council on Transport at the lunch.
