6th Meeting of the Ministers of Education of the Turkic Council convened in Istanbul 
The 6th Meeting of the Ministers of Education of the Turkic Council was convened in Istanbul on 4 November 2021 and hosted by the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Mahmut Özer.
The Meeting, chaired by H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the Turkic Council and was attended by H.E. Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Askhat Aimagambetov, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Bolotbek Kupeshov, Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Temurjon Komilov, Deputy Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Darkhan Kydyrali, President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Muhittin Şimşek, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Ahmed Yassawi University as well as H.E. László Keller, Consul General of Hungary in Istanbul.
The meeting started with the message of the President of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in which the President stated that the Turkic Council has become a symbol of brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation among the Member States and meeting among the Education Ministers within the scope of the upcoming Summit will guide the education community in their effort to provide better quality education to the youth and accordingly will be beneficial for the education community in the Turkic world.
Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev in his opening speech underlined that the Turkic Council attaches great importance to the cooperation in the field of science and education considering that these areas are the driving force for the social change, economic development and welfare in the Member States as well as an important instrument in promoting and reinforcing common consciousness around common language, history and cultural values among the younger generations of the Turkic world.
During the meeting, the Ministers highlighted the significance of the Orkhun Exchange Programme of the Turkic University Union (TÜRKÜNİB) to accelerate the mobility among the Member Universities and agreed to hold the 2nd Sport Games of the Turkic University Union in 2022 as well as approved the decisions taken at the 5th General Assembly of the TÜRKİNİB held on 26 October 2021 in Turkistan. 
The Parties also discussed the issues related to the Turkic Academy including the latest state of the Common Turkic History Textbook covering the period till the 15th century and the Common Geography and Literature Textbooks.
Additionally, Turkish side proposed to establish an online platform within the Turkic Council based on their presentation on the "First aid education booklet for 6-9 ages” as an exemplary and innovative education material. 
The Ministers further agreed that the Student Exchange Prog¬ramme among the secondary/high schools will be hosted by the Kazakh side and the Educational Exchange Program for education professionals of the Member States will be organized by the Turkish side in 2022. 
At the end of the meeting, the Ministers adopted the “Regulation on the Orkhun Exchange Program” and signed the Decision on the “Amendments to Article 10 of the Directive on the establishment of the Turkic University Union and Higher Education Area” to be implemented in line with the national legislations of the Member States.
