6th Meeting of the Working Group on Customs Cooperation of the Turkic Council is concluded on 22 April 2016 in Istanbul. Developments in the field of customs cooperation as well as new projects in this context were discussed during the meeting.
For the first time, customs matters and possible solutions in this field were discussed with the participation of private sector representatives. Furthermore Turkish side made a presentation on combating trafficking activities and possibilities for cooperation with the member states in this field were discussed.
Yet again for the first time, a technical expert from the European Regional Capacity Building Office of the World Customs Organization in Baku (http://www.rocb-europe.org/homepage) made a presentation and gave information about the opportunities which may be for the benefit of the member countries.
It was also decided to work on an agreement that will facilitate customs procedures by the experts of the member countries.
