A meeting of Alliance of Logistics Centers and Cargo Carriers with Turkish transport and logistic companies was organized on 26 August 2024 at the OTS Secretariat premises in Istanbul.
Co-chaired by OTS Deputy Secretary General Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov and the Secretary General of the Alliance Mr. Askar Kadirov, the meeting saw the participation of around 30 key representatives from major transport and logistics companies and associations in Türkiye.
Established under the aegis of the OTS, the Alliance of Logistics Centers and Cargo Carriers aims to consolidate major logistics centers, carriers, terminals, and ports across Turkic states. Its objectives include fostering efficient cooperation, enhancing transport infrastructure, attracting investments through public-private partnerships, and implementing innovative solutions for fast, regular, and cost-effective freight transport.
During the meeting, participants expressed their interest in joining the Alliance, explored potential avenues for collaboration, and discussed challenges faced by the private sector in transport, along with potential solutions. In particular, the participants agreed to leverage the Alliance's platform to advance strategic dialogues with governmental authorities across the Turkic states, focusing on critical issues such as mitigating vehicle congestion at border crossings and collaboratively launching Ro-Ro and Ro-Pax ferries in the Caspian Sea.
The participants also expressed their appreciation for the support provided by the Heads of State for the Alliance's activities, as highlighted during the recent Shusha Summit of the OTS.
