Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of the Turkic Council, addressed the audience at the first session of the First Regional Forum on the Role of South-South/East-East Cooperation in Advancing the Achievement of National Development Priorities while Implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda that was organized by UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) in cooperation with UN Development Programme (UNDP) and Islamic Development Bank on 4 November 2016 in Dubai just after the Global South-South Development Expo 2016.
In his address, he touched upon the practical dimension of the support that the Turkic Council lends to its member states to promote South-South Cooperation among them and in the region.
He underlined the tailor-made, thematic and comprehensive approach of the Turkic Council in implementing its projects especially on knowledge and experience sharing in various sectors including tourism.
Furthermore, he emphasized on the need to bolster cross-regional and international collaboration and coordination to carry out successful regional projects for the benefit of the Global South and towards the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals, leaving no one behind.
In this regard, he reiterated the commitment of the Turkic Council to deepen its existing productive relations with UNDP and UNOSSC through the result-oriented projects bringing homegrown solutions to the regional development needs within its broad-based partnership approach.
Turkic Council Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul and Project Director Pelin Musabay Baki accompanied Secretary General Hasanov during the meeting.
