On the margins of his official visit to Dubai to attend the Global South-South Development Expo 2016 upon the invitation of the UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of the Turkic Council paid official courtesy visits to Mr. Erdem Ozan, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Dubai, Mr. Perviz İsmailzade, Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Dubai and Mr. Arman Issagaliyev, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Dubai on 2 November 2016.
At the visit, Secretary General Hasanov informed the Consul Generals about the activities of the Turkic Council in a wide range of areas from economy, sustainable development, tourism, transportation, customs, education to media, youth and sports. He also shared with them the outcomes of the conference that the Turkic Council co-hosted with the UN Alliance of Civilizations on 20-21 October 2016 in Istanbul with the theme of the Role of Youth in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism attended by more than 300 participants and speakers coming from 40 countries from Africa to Central Asia.
Moreover, he also give detailed information on the enhanced relations of the Turkic Council with UNDP and UNOSSC in promoting South-South cooperation and addressing the common development challenges towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
The Consul Generals expressed their appreciation for the visit of Secretary General Hasanov through which they could be better informed on the activities of the Turkic Council.
At the end of the meeting, Secretary General presented the annual reports of the Turkic Council to the Consul Generals.
Turkic Council Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul and Project Director Pelin Musabay Baki accompanied Secretary General Hasanov during the abovementioned visit.
