Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of the Turkic Council participated in the 7th UNWTO Meeting of Silk Road Ministers that focused on sustainable tourism and local Silk Road Communities held on 8 March 2017 in Berlin on the margins of International Tourism Fair-ITB Berlin.

At the meeting, Secretary General Hasanov had contacts with Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of the UNWTO, Abulfas Garayev, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nabi Avcı, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Kuatjan Ualiyev, State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Azamat Zhamankulov, Deputy Minister of Culture, Tourism and Information of the Kyrgyz Republic. He also met with several Ministers and leading figures of the international tourism sector participating in the meeting.

During the meeting, in his address to the audience, Minister Nabi Avcı gave information about the Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package Project of the Turkic Council, the first familiarization trip of which will be carried out at the end of April 2017 and he expressed Turkey`s firm support to kick off the project.

Project Director Pelin Musabay Baki and Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompanied Secretary General at the Ministerial meeting.
