Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of the Turkic Council participated in the opening ceremony of the World Conference on Tourism and Future Energy: Unlocking low-carbon growth opportunities organized in Astana, Kazakhstan on 26 June 2017 by the Astana EXPO 2017 and UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) as a part of the celebrations of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development 2017.
At the opening ceremony, Askar Mamin, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan,Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General of the UNWTO, Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Chairman of the Board, "Astana EXPO 2017 National Company". JSC,Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan and Asset Issekeshev, Mayor of Astana City addressed the audience covering more than 500 high level participants.
The conference aims to stimulate discussion among industry leaders, entrepreneurs, financiers and policy makers, as well as to explore new opportunities and innovative solutions for future energy in the global tourism sector to contribute to low carbon growth.
On the occasion of the conference, Secretary General Hasanov had bilateral contacts with Secretary General Rifai as well as with leading figures in tourism sector of the world tourism.
Meanwhile Secretary General Hasanov presented the plate of the Turkic Council to Vice President of Air Astana İbrahim Canliel for the Air Astana`s contribution to the succesfull realization of familiarization trips of Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package Project carried out in April and May 2017 with the participation of 79 journalists and experts coming from 18 different countries.
Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman, Project Directors Pelin Musabay Baki and Yedil Mirzakhanov and Deputy Financial Manager Araz Salmanov accompanied Ambassador Hasanov at the said high-level opening.
