Newly appointed President of the Turkic Investment Fund, the former Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev was awarded the “Superior Foreign Service Award of the Republic of Turkiye “Üstün Hizmet Ödülü” for the outstanding service for the Turkic World” in a special ceremony with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu organized on November 18, 2022 in Istanbul.
The ceremony was attended by the newly appointed Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan H.E. Rashad Mammadov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan H.E. Erkebulan Sapiev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan H.E. Mekan Ishanguliev, OTS Deputies Secretary General Gismat Gozalov and Mirvokhid Azimov, Consuls General of the OTS Member and Observer States, as well as representatives of Turkish business community.
In his welcoming speech, Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized the outstanding achievements of the Organization of Turkic States during the period from 2018 to 2022 under the leadership of Baghdad Amreyev, including increasing the number of the OTS members and observers, renaming and raising its status as an authoritative international organization, establishing and developing new areas of cooperation, adopting the strategic document "Turkic World Vision - 2040" and "OTS Strategy for 2022-2026".
The Turkish Minister also noted that B.Amreyev has been contributing to the strengthening of the unity of the Turkic World since 2008 when being the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Türkiye, the Kazakh diplomat played a decisive role in the creation of the Turkic Council, which was renamed into the Organization of Turkic States later in 2021. Minister Çavuşoğlu expressed satisfaction that Baghdad Amreyev would continue to serve the Turkic World in the coming years.
In this regard, the Turkish Minister congratulated B.Amreyev on his appointment as President of the Turkic Investment Fund in accordance with the decision of the Heads of the Turkic States, adopted during the Samarkand Summit on November 11, 2022.
Baghdad Amreyev noted that it was a great honor for him to serve the Turkic World and expressed gratitude to the Heads of State and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Turkic states for the acknowledgement of the OTS activities during his tenure as the Secretary General of this Organization.
He expressed gratitude to the President of Türkiye H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as the Head of the host country, as well as to Minister Çavuşoğlu for the constant support of the work of the Organization.
B.Amreyev also expressed his gratitude to the Heads of the Turkic States for the highest trust they showed to him and for his appointment to the post of President of the Turkic Investment Fund during the Samarkand Summit. He assured that he would make every effort to further develop such important components of Turkic cooperation as economic, trade and financial spheres.
B. Amreyev congratulated the newly appointed OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omaraliev and wished him every success in his future endeavors.
B. Amreyev also thanked the staff of the OTS Secretariat - Deputies Secretary General, Project Directors, and other personnel for the well-coordinated, efficient and successful teamwork, as well as faithful service in the name of the Turkic world.
