Chairman of Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Binali Yıldırım visited the Republic of Kazakhstan on 9-10 December 2021.
During his tour in Kazakhtan, H.E. Yıldırım visited the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, a distinguished Sufi master and one of the most important spiritual leaders of the Turkic World in Turkistan, he also attended the ceremony of awarding him as honorary professor of the Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University.
H.E. Yıldırım participated in the International Scientific Conference titled "Leadership, Stability, Progress" which was organized by Nazarbayev Center in honour of 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence on 10 December 2021 in Nur-Sultan.
In his address at the Conference, H.E. Yıldırım congratulated Kazakhstan and its people for the country's 30th anniversary of independence and underlined that Kazakhstan emerged as one of the important political and economic actor in the region as well as in the international arena, thanks to the wise leadership of the First President of Kazakhstan, H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev. H.E. Yıldırım further stated that Kazakhstan's future looks even brighter and Turkey will continue to support Kazakhstan and its brotherly people in the upcoming period.
H.E. Yıldırım visited International Turkic Academy and held talks on various dimensions of cooperation in the field of science and education in the Turkic World, and received information about the activities of the Academy.
In Nur-Sultan, H.E. Yıldırım was received by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Askar Mamin on 10 December 2021, in which Parties discussed various issues including the outcomes of the 8th Summit of the Organization held last month.
H.E. Yıldırım emphasized that, after the historic Summit of the Organization held in Istanbul, a new phase started for the Turkic World and as the Council of Elders, they will show every effort to make contribution for deepening cooperation among the Member and Observer States.
