On behalf of the Turkic Council and Member States, I sincerely congratulate the people of Kyrgyzstan and the entire Turkic World on the occasion of Manas Epic Day.
The Epic of Manas, which has become the spiritual treasure and national pride of the Kyrgyz people, is not only an oral folk art, but also one of the national symbols of our founding state-Kyrgyzstan.
In 1995 the UN General Assembly took a decision to celebrate the 1000th Anniversary of the Manas Epic and thus contributed to its worldwide recognition.
The Kyrgyz people have preserved the unique spiritual spirit of Manas and passed it from generation to generation as an oral heritage. The Manasians who chanted Manas have a great role in the culture of the Turkic World as the narrators and poets of the epic in question.
As the great poetic creation of the Kyrgyz nation, which reveals and tries to spread the idea of peace, unity and justice, the Epic of Manas will always sustain as the symbol of the strength and capacity of the people of Kyrgyzstan.
This magnificent and unique epic, is the spiritual, historical and cultural heritage not only of Kyrgyzstan but also of the entire Turkic World, reassuring our unity based on our common objectives.
