On the occasion of the National Day of our host and one of the founding members of the Turkic Council, the Republic of Turkey, I have the honor and pleasure to convey my cordial congratulations and best wishes to the fraternal Turkish people and Government.
As we celebrate today the 98th Anniversary of the Turkish Republic, the enduring lessons of this historical period of the country, leading up to the declaration of the Republic, serve to inspire many nations and encourage them to adopt the principles of state-building that Turkey has achieved.
Preparing to welcome centennial of its foundation, Turkey has already taken its rightful place as a strong country in the international political arena with its farsighted and peaceful foreign policies, as well as successful economic, political and social development, built upon progressive reforms.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all the institutions of our host country Turkey, who have always provided the strongest support for the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world, initiated the meetings held for this purpose before and during the establishment period of the Turkic Council and strengthened our Organization by not only hosting the Turkic Council Secretariat but also extending all its means to achieve our activities and undertakings.
Our Leaders will meet at our 8th Summit, which will take place in a few weeks in İstanbul. This Summit certainly will be a historic turning point for our Organization. Turkey will not only host this important event but also will take over the Chairmanship from Azerbaijan during the Summit. On this very occasion, we wish Turkey a successful term and hope that it will be a period during which our Organization will enter a new era of progress with closer cooperation and deeper integration among our Member States.
With these feelings and thoughts, while I respectfully commemorate the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades in arms, I once again convey my sincere congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Turkey and wish Turkish nation a prosperous future.
