I am very proud and happy to greet you all on the occasion of October 3, the day when the foundations of our organization were officially laid with the signing of Nakhchivan Agreement in 2009.
With this agreement, for the first time in history, the brotherly Turkic States, built on the basis of a centuries-old deep-rooted civilization and bound by the common language, history and culture, came together under the roof of our Organization voluntarily to encourage and coordinate comprehensive and multilateral cooperation in political, economic, cultural and social fields.
That is why this historical day was acknowledged as the “Cooperation Day of Turkic States” by our Heads of State, to be celebrated and comprehended as a collective festive day by our peoples and future generations.
Today is our common day, today is our common feast!
We have been serving a blessed cause for 13 years, and we have been devotedly and tirelessly working with a great harmony and collaboration established with all the institutions and administrations of our Member and Observer States.
In November last year, we held our Istanbul Summit, which constitutes a very important milestone in the history of our Organization. With this Summit, we have received the appreciation of our Honorable Heads of State and Government. Since then, we have been working with high energy and full capacity for about a year, with the nourishing contributions of our name change, the fruitful developments and the long-term road map set in the 2040 Turkic World Vision document accepted during the Istanbul Summit.
Moreover we yet again carried out very concrete and productive series of activities in more than 20 cooperation areas from economy to transport, from health to education, from youth and sports to tourism. We effectively continued organization of ministerial and expert meetings, as well as specialized forums, high level conferences, sectoral workshops, training and capacity building programs covering all these fields.
Our intensive efforts in terms of economic cooperation will bear fruits very soon with the launch of the Turkic Investment Fund targeting to support the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of our countries.
In this period, our Heads of State and Foreign Ministers also have been very active in pursuing mutual official visits and have engaged with their counterparts very dynamically, signed many bilateral agreements and agreed to commit higher level strategic alliances.
In Samarkand this November, we will all witness another key Summit, at which a number of important decisions that are of vital importance for our Organization will be taken; various multilateral agreements will be finalized for the benefit of the entire Turkic world.
Therefore, we are doing our best to fulfill our thorough work and accomplish all our responsibilities set forth by our Leaders, in service of the welfare and solidarity of our Member and Observer States.
The path we have taken enlightens our future, each completed task leads us to a higher goal, and our achievements strengthen our commitments.
With these feelings and thoughts, we express our deep gratitude to our Heads of State, the Ministries, public institutions, private sector and NGOs of our Member and Observer States for their continual support and contributions to the activities of our Organization.
Wishing peace, unity and solidarity, we cordially celebrate 3rd October of all Turkic peoples around world.
Together We Are Stronger!
