Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev chaired the meeting of the Coordination Committee of Cooperation Organizations of Turkic Speaking States on 22 September 2020.
Coordination Committee of Cooperation Organizations of Turkic Speaking States, which is composed of the affiliated Organizations of the Turkic Council namely TurkPA, TURKSOY, Turkic Academy and Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, was established by the decision of Council of Heads of States (CHS) of the Turkic Council at the 7th Summit held on 15 October 2019 in Baku with the purpose of ensuring better coordination and closer cooperation among the Turkic Cooperation Organizations under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, avoiding duplication in their activities and enhancing coordinating functions of the Turkic Council among the Turkic Cooperation Organizations.
The meeting was attended by Secretary General of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA), Mr. Altynbek Mammayusupov, Secretary General of International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), Mr. Dusen Kasseinov; President of Turkic Academy, Mr. Darkhan Kydyrali; and President of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. Mrs.Gunay Afandiyeva.
Stating that over the last 2 years, the Turkic Council has experienced its most intense and productive period in its history, Secretary General of the Turkic Council underlined that the comprehensive expansion of cooperation within the Turkic World requires a new level of coordination among the Turkic Cooperation Organizations. He added that there is a greater room for coordination and the effectiveness of the activities of these Organizations would only be ensured once a better dialogue, better coordination and joint planning are in place.
He stated that TURKSOY has become over the years an international brand and served as an important platform to strengthen cultural ties among brotherly Turkic peoples; TURK-PA has been playing a pivotal role in developing inter-parliamentary relations among the Turkic Council Member States; Turkic Academy has carried out many successful projects in scientific field; and Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation has been making valuable contributions to the common efforts in the cultural field.
Secretary General pointed out that he is convinced that the meeting would yield positive outcomes and is of crucial importance for establishing a common perspective on certain elements of the joint work in a way to avoid duplication and ensure better coordination on the basis of the activity programs of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations in the upcoming period.
Heads of Turkic Cooperation Organizations discussed the ways to ensure a better coordination based on their respective programs planned in the upcoming period and exchanged views on the joint activities to be organized in the course of 2020 and 2021. The members of the Committee defined the common areas that Turkic Cooperation Organizations are currently operating and agreed on common principles to safeguard the institutional interaction and the efficiency of work in the best possible way.
An annual roadmap of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations will be prepared for the period of 2020/2021 based on the proposals made by the members during the meeting.
