On May16th, 2019, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E.Mr. Araz Azimov delivered a lecture on “Regional Security Issues and Azerbaijan’ foreign policy priorities” to the junior diplomats of the Turkic Council’s 6th Joint Training Program.
Deputy Minister Araz Azimov in his lecture gave comprehensive information about the current security challenges in Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia, and late drastic developments in the region.
Deputy Minister Araz Azimov also touched upon the participation of the Turkic Council Members States in different military-political organizations, such as NATO and CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) and Azerbaijan’s successful cooperation and achievements made in the framework of Partnership for Peace Program of NATO.
Answering the questions of the junior diplomats about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Deputy Minister spoke about the history of negotiations in the framework of OSCE MG, highlighted Azerbaijan’s adherence to the Minsk process and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict’s negative impact on regional security and prosperity.
