Deputy Secretary General Abzal Saparbekuly participated at the OSCE business conference “Connectivity for Commerce and Investment” held on 18-19 May 2016 in Berlin.
The Turkic Council upon the invitation of the Chair-in-office of OSCE, Germany participated at the OSCE business conference “Connectivity for Commerce and Investment” held on 18-19 May 2016 in Berlin.
 
The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier opened the Conference. Almost 1000 high-ranking official and business representatives from the entire OSCE region and 11 Partners for Co-operation and other interested countries, including China, as well as financial institutions like EBRD, ADB, WB and AIIB took part in.
 
In the plenary sessions, panels and workshops, panelists and participants discussed topics such as economic hubs and transport corridors, trade and investment as facilitators for connectivity, trade facilitation and good governance, security of supply routes, the digital transformation, the EU-China Connectivity Platform, cross-border transport in Central Asia and the Southern Caucasus, free trade in regions with protracted conflicts, the Western Balkans Connectivity Agenda and strengthening economic connectivity in the Eurasian space.
 
The Deputy Secretary General Mr. Abzal Saparbekuly made remarks at the workshops about the role of Turkic Council in enhancing peace, security and development in the region and also activities regarding connectivity agenda of the organisation, including the projects on development of the Trans Caspian International Transport Route as well as the Modern SilkRoad Joint Tour Package. Deputy Secretary General discussed with representatives of interested parties on the possible means of the mutual cooperation.
