Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman participated in the ‘2016 OSCE Asian Conference on Strengthening Comprehensive Security’.
As a special guest of the host country ,Thailand, the Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman participated in the ‘2016 OSCE Asian Conference on Strengthening Comprehensive Security’ co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and OSCE on 6-7 June 2016 in Bangkok.

The conference provided an opportunity for the OSCE participating States, the Asian Partners for Co-operation, as well as International Organizations, think-tanks, and interested NGOs to discuss ways and possible concepts for the strengthening of comprehensive security.

During the three sessions of the conference participants exchanged views by focusing on the following topics:
- Enhancing international efforts to strengthen security co-operation
- Promoting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to ensure peace and prosperity
- Trafficking in human beings and irregular migration: sharing experiences and lessons learned between Europe and Asia.

Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman provided information about the views of the Turkic Council on the foregoing topics during the interactive sessions and had various bilateral contacts with his counterparts throughout the conference.
