Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman met with the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Avtandil Alıbayev on 29 November 2019 in Bishkek.
At the meeting, the Deputy Secretary General informed the Deputy Minister about latest developments regarding the activities and projects carried out by the Turkic Council in the field of economy, putting a special emphasis on the activities of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), works undertaken for the establishment of the “Turkic Investment Fund”, groundworks for the Research Paper on Investment Climate and International Trade Complementarities of the Turkic Council Member States. Speaking on the activities of the TCCI, he referred to the organization of a Business Forum in 2020 in Kyrgyzstan to oblige as a platform of dialogue and close cooperation between the businesspeople and the public authorities of the member states.
Deputy Secretary General indicated that the theme of of the 7th Summit of the Turkic Council was dedicated to the“Supporting the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)" with the aim of enhancing economic dimensions of the cooperation among the member states. Dr. Kocaman also referred to the statement made by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Sooronbay Zheenbekov during the 7th Summit of the Turkic Council, advising member states to promote and work towards green economy, light industry and agriculture.
Deputy Secretary General also provided information on the Turkic Business Web Portal as well as the new programs and projects.
Deputy Minister Alıbayev welcomed and noted the information presented by the Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman and expressed that Kyrgyz side is looking forward to fruitful discussions at all platforms initiated by the Turkic Council and is ready to support works carried out under its umbrella.
Parties also exchanged views on significant regional initiatives in the field of economy and Kyrgyzstan’s contribution to major ongoing projects.
