Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ömer Kocaman and the Project Director Ali Çiviler attended the 37th Meeting of Permanent Council of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and the Closing Ceremony of Osh 2019 – Cultural Capital of Turkic World that were held on 30 November 2019 in Osh.
Hosted by the Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Azamat Camankulov, the 37th Meeting of the Permanent Council was held with the participation of Ministers of Culture of the TURKSOY Member and Observer States, Mayor of Osh, as well as the representatives of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations.
In line with the proposal of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the 6th and 7th Summits of the Turkic Council convened in Cholpon-Ata and Baku in 2018 and 2019, Khiva was announced by the Permanent Council of TURKSOY as the Cultural Capital of Turkic World in 2020.
On the occasion of the event, a TURKSOY Park and Statue was opened in honour of the closing ceremony activities at a central place of Osh with the participation of a large number of people.
