Appointed by the Heads of State during the 6th Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) in Cholpon-Ata, new Secretary General Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev took over the post with a ceremony from his predecessor Ambassador Ramil Hasan on 7 September 2018 at the premises of the Turkic Council Secretariat.
Ambassador Amreyev conveyed his thanks to the outgoing Secretary General Mr. Hasan for his services for 4 year period at the Turkic Council. At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Hasan handed over the flag of the Council to Ambassador Amreyev.
After the ceremony, Secretary General Ambassador Amreyev held a meeting with all Secretariat staff members, made a brief evaluation of the 6th Summit, as well as touched upon the road map for the working agenda of the Secretariat ahead. He also stated that, in accordance with the decisions of the Heads of State, he will work towards enhancing and developing aims and goals of the organization, to a onward stage with a reform package, together with the Secretariat staff, in order to achieve further cooperation among the member countries.
