The delegation headed by Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E.Baghdad Amreyev and consisted the Secretary General of TURKSOY Mr. Dusein Kaseinov and President of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Mrs. Gunay Afandiyeva met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Jeyhun Bayramov on 18 January 2021 in Baku.
B.Amreyev expressed the gratitude of the delegation for visiting Baku and once again sincerely congratulated brotherly Azerbaijan with the great victory of Azerbaijan people in its just war on the liberation of occupied territories and restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Secretary General briefed the Minister in detail about the visit of the delegation of Turkic cooperation organizations to the Aghdam and Fuzuli regions of Azerbaijan on January 17, 2021. He said that the visit aimed at familiarizing with the consequences of the destruction of the historical, cultural, and religious heritage of Azerbaijan during the occupation by Armenian armed forces.
Secretary General of TURKSOY, D.Kaseinov stated that the current state of the cities of freed lands proves that they suffered from barbarism in relation to other culture and people and noted that the world should considered it as an example of cultural vandalism.
D. Kasseinov suggested declaring the city of Shusha the cultural capital of the Turkic world - 2022, as well as holding a number of joint cultural events in Karabakh in order to popularize the great historical and cultural heritage of Shusha for all Turkic people.
The President of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Mrs. Gunay Afendiyeva expressed her gratitude for organizing the visit to Aghdam and Fuzuli regions. She emphasized that Fuzuli was almost completely leveled to the ground and not one whole building remained. She noted that the state of the monuments is terrible and such treatment of intentional destruction of spiritual sites is regarded as blasphemy.
Foreign Minister J.Bayramov expressed his gratitude for the visit of Turkic cooperation organizations delegation to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, which was widely covered in the mass media. Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan highly appreciates the supportive positions of Turkic Council and other international organizations on Karabakh.
He noted that the visit of the delegation to the liberated regions offered an opportunity to witness first- hand real situation in the site and condemned the Armenians for the cruelty against civilization.
J.Bayramov drew the attention of the heads of the Turkic organizations that despite the ceasefire and the efforts for moving to peaceful settlement of the conflict, the Armenian side continues sending diversionists groups deliberately intended to destabilize the situation in the region. He noted that group of the illegal Armenian armed forces were captured by Azerbaijan army and they will be prosecuted according to the law of Azerbaijan.
B.Amreyev reiterated the willingness of Turkic Council together with its related organizations to contribute to the revival of socio-economic and cultural heritage of Karabakh by providing the necessary assistance in restoration works of architectural monuments of the Turkic world in the region.
Talking about the cooperation within the Turkic Council, Secretary General briefed the Minister on the outcomes of his recent contacts in the framework of his latest visits to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, as well as of his meetings with the Heads of States/Governments and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Turkic Council Member States, during which the parties agreed to continue actively working and expanding joint efforts for deepening mutual cooperation.
Parties exchanged views on the preparation of the informal Summit of the Turkic Council scheduled to be held in Turkestan in March 2021, previously proposed by the Honorary Chairman of the Turkic Council and the First President of Kazakhstan H.E. N. Nazarbayev.
B.Amreyev briefed J.Bayramov on the ongoing efforts for the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund aimed at contributing to further involvement of the private sectors of the Member States in implementing join projects in different spheres.
They discussed issues of strengthening the activities of Council of Aksakals as well as establishing the positions of Goodwill Ambassadors of the organization.
At the meeting of the heads of Turkic cooperation organizations with Minister also reviewed the long-term perspectives of further cooperation within the framework of Turkic Council.
