Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Dr. Omer Kocaman chaired the working group meeting of the media representatives of the Turkic Council Member States, which was organized by TRT Avaz with the support of the Secretariat on 25-26 September 2019 in Ankara. TRT Deputy Director General, Mr. Erkan Durdu also participated in the consultation meeting along with senior officials of national channels of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
In his opening statement, Deputy Secretary General touched upon the need for the Joint FTP Pool which facilitates the exchange of programs among the relevant media outlets of the Member States. Referring to the ministerial decision taken on joint production of documentaries, short films and videos, Deputy Secretary General put a special emphasis on the significance of this meeting in terms of solving technical hindrances before broadcasting programs and video materials to be exchanged in certain formats with agreed content.
In this address, TRT Deputy Director General, Mr. Erkan Durdu expressed that TRT Avaz channel has been successfully fulfilling its assertion of being a common culture, art and news channel of the Turkic world since its establishment and this meeting is a step forward to implement this ideal in a more collective way by producing qualified programs and interesting documentaries for the Turkic world.
