International Election Observer Missions of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) and the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA) conducted observation of the pre-election process and on the Election Day of the Presidential Election and 27th Term General Parliamentary Elections of the Republic of Turkey from 21 to 25 June 2018.
Composed of 36 officials from Turkic Council, TURKPA, Turkic Academy and the representatives of the Member States other than Turkey – Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the Missions monitored the elections in Antalya, Istanbul, Samsun and Ankara visiting 146 polling stations in total: 41 in Antalya, 48 in Istanbul, 20 in Samsun and 37 in Ankara.
The Missions conclude and affirm that the Presidential Election and 27th Term General Parliamentary Elections of the Republic of Turkey were open, transparent and competitive, and complied with the national legislation of the Republic of Turkey and generally accepted international election standards.
