Dr.Samed Seyidov, Chairman of the Committee for International and Interparliamentary Relations of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Head of Azerbaijan’s Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe(PACE) and Dr. Asim Mollazade, Member of the Committee for International and Interparliamentary Relations and Chairman of Azerbaijan's Democratic Reforms Party (DRP) received the young diplomats and gave lecture on the Role of Parliamentary Diplomacy on 15 May 2019.
They informed the participants about the activities and foreign relations of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Azerbaijan’ s foreign policy priorities and relations, its major role in Europe’s energy security and participation in mega energy projects, such as TAP and TANAP.
Dr. Asim Mollazade especially underlined the importance of multiculturalism and tolerance, achievements in economic, social and humanitarian spheres in Azerbaijan.
They shed light on advantages and disadvantages of parliamentary diplomacy in international relations and answered the questions of the participants about recent developments in the world and in the region, as well as regional conflicts.
Prior to their visit to the Milli Majlis , the diplomats had Kyrgyz language course for participants from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijani language course for the participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary and Uzbekistan, as well as a lecture by Mr. Azad Jafarli, Chief of Staff of ASAN Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on Negotiation Techniques, and also by Dr.Elnur Soltanov, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on International Energy Projects in the Region.
