The army of the Republic of Azerbaijan was officially established on June 26, 1918 and this date was declared as the Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan by the decree issued by the National Leader and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in 1998. Therefore, the 26th day of June is celebrated as the Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan every year.
The strength of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan continues to be the assurance of the independence of the country and the prosperity and tranquility of the Azerbaijani people.
On behalf of the Turkic Council and on my own, I would like to congratulate wholeheartedly the Day of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
