Mr. Adahan Madumarov, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council, participated in the international conference dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Toktogul Satylganov
Mr. Adahan Madumarov, the Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council, participated in the international conference dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Toktogul Satylganov, an unrivaled Kyrgyz band-virtuoso and outstanding composer on 9 December 2014 in Baku.

The year 2014 was declared by the TURKSOY a “Year of Toktogul Satylganov”. There had been a number of activities in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Kyrgyz bard taking place in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Russia. The conference hosted and organized by the Ministry Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan was the last of the series of events in regard to the celebration of the abovementioned anniversary.

During the conference the Deputy Secretary General stressed that there are strong friendship ties among the Turkic States, and that close cooperation in many areas, especially in the sphere of culture, is growing from day to day. Besides this, Mrs. Güngör Azim Tuna, the governor of the Turkish province of Eskişehir, presented a book published by the governorate in honor of the “Year of Toktogul Satylganov”. The book, written by Gulzura Zhumakunova, a Professor at Ankara University, is also translated into Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, Turkish and Uzbek languages. 

Mr. Abulfas Garayev, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, Mr. Dusen Kaseinov, the Secretary General of the TURKSOY, Mr. Nihat Gül, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Mr. Osmonbek Artykbayev, the Deputy Chairman of the National Commission for the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Toktogul Satylganov in Kyrgyzstan, also took part in the conference. The conference ended with the performance of the Kyrgyz bard Elmirbek Imanaliyev.
