Hosted by Atatürk University, currently holding the chairmanship of the Union, the Second General Assembly of the Turkic Council Turkic University Union is being held in historical Silk Road city of Erzurum between 11-12 April 2016.
General Assembly is being attended by the member university rectors and their representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. In addition, representatives from the Council of Higher Education of Turkey is also participating in the General Assembly.
Within the context of the General Assembly, Orkhon Process Experts Meeting took place on 11 April 2016. During the experts meeting the steps and direction plan as well as determination of the needs towards realization and implementation of Orkhon Process was discussed. Inclusion of the European Credit Transfer System as well as the issues of recognition and equivalence of diplomas were among the agenda items of the experts meeting.
The First Meeting of the Student Council of the Turkic University Union was also held within the framework of the General Assembly on 11 April 2016 at Atatürk University. The Student Council activities to be held in 2016 within the each participating university in order to strengthen cooperation among the university students of the Turkic world as well as other projects to be realized, were discussed at the Student Council meeting.
