The OTS delegation participated in the 44th General Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation - Union of Road Transport Associations (BSEC-URTA), which took place on 2 September 2024 in Tashkent.
In his keynote address, OTS Deputy Secretary General Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov emphasized the critical role of transport connectivity in driving economic prosperity throughout the region. He commended BSEC-URTA’s successful efforts to enhance transport links within the Black Sea region and highlighted the ongoing collaboration with BSEC-URTA and the IRU in developing the OTS-URTA platform, modeled on BSEC-URTA's achievements.
The participants emphasized the implementation of the ePermit system between Türkiye and Uzbekistan within the OTS. In his remarks, IRU President Mr. Radu Dinesku encouraged the other member associations to build on this experience. Discussions also focused on exploring further cooperation to strengthen joint efforts in transport digitalization.
During the meeting, Project Director of the OTS Secretariat Mr. Shokirjon Rakhmatov made a presentation and detailed the OTS’s ongoing initiatives to digitalize transport and transit procedures, aimed at streamlining logistics, removing barriers, and improving the efficiency of transport networks across the Turkic region.
