The delegation of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) participated in an online format in the Conference titled “International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development” taking place on May 3-4, 2023 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, organized by Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan
The OTS Deputy Secretary General Mirvokhid Azimov addressed the conference and highlighted Turkmenistan's efforts to promote sustainable multimodal transit corridors and international initiatives and expressed the readiness to actively involve the Turkmen side in the cooperation mechanisms and the implementation of transport-related projects within the OTS, including the Sister Ports Process and introducing digital tools (digital TIR, e-Permit, and eCMR) aimed at facilitating transport and transit procedures.
During the conference, participants discussed ways to adapt to new realities in international transportation, develop efficient international transport and transit corridors, and strengthen international cooperation to improve transport logistics systems. The event served as a valuable platform for experts and stakeholders to share insights and exchange ideas on the future of transport and transit corridors.
