The Delegation of the Organization of Turkic States led by Deputy Secretary General Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov participated in the 3rd International Conference and Exhibition "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024" (ITTC-2024) held on 26-27 November 2024 in Ashgabat.
The event, hosted by the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, brought together over 600 participants from 40 countries, including heads and representatives from international organizations, government bodies, and the transport and logistics sector.
Deputy Secretary General Dr. Azimov in his address during the Plenary session, highlighted the role of Turkmenistan as an important player in shaping global transport policy and enhancing connectivity across continents with its global transport initiatives and infrastructure development efforts.
Providing insights on recent developments and ongoing efforts within the OTS in enhancing transport connectivity, Deputy Secretary General underlined that Turkmenistan's active involvement significantly contributes to the strengthening of regional transport links, facilitating transit and fostering a deeper integration of the Turkic region.
Project Director of the OTS Secretariat Mr. Shokirjon Rakhmatov also participated as a speaker in the Panel Session on “Transport Hubs and Corridors” and as a moderator in the Session on “Innovations for Transport Corridors”.
