OTS Delegation participated in International Conference on Road Transport in Tashkent 
The OTS delegation took part in the International Conference titled “International Road Transport: Driving Resilience and Prosperity. The Road Ahead: 75 Years of TIR,” held on 4 September 2024 in Tashkent. Hosted by the Association of International Road Carriers of Uzbekistan (AIRCUZ) and the International Road Transport Union (IRU), the event attracted over 140 representatives from national transport associations, including those from the Member and Observer States of the OTS, as well as key stakeholders from the global transport industry and international organizations.  
Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the vital role the IRU has played in enhancing global connectivity and fostering economic growth through the TIR system, and highlighting the long-standing partnership between the two organizations. Dr. Azimov also highlighted the significant investments in infrastructure and the optimization of transport operations in Uzbekistan, which are contributing to the transformation of the region into a key crossroads linking East to West and North to South.  
Underlining the shared vision of the OTS and IRU in enhancing transport connectivity and facilitating trade across the region, the Deputy Secretary General briefed participants on the successful implementation of the digital TIR project between Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, the establishment of green lanes at border crossings, and joint efforts towards implementing the eCMR system.  
The President of the IRU Mr. Radu Dinescu, the First Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Mr. Mamanbiy Omarov, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan Mr. Ilkhom Mukhtorov, and the Chairman of AIRCUZ Mr. Sanjar Pulatov also delivered keynote and welcoming speeches during the conference.  
The participants discussed the current challenges in transportation and transit, exchanging views on ways to further streamline transit procedures and advance fully digital transport operations.
