Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Merey Mukazhan addressed at the official opening ceremony of the International Conference of Leading Think Tanks of the Member States of the OTS, themed: “Expanding Trade Potential Among the Countries of the OTS: Joint Research and Strategic Solutions” held in Tashkent on 14 April 2025.
Merey Mukazhan noted that OTS places significant emphasis on fostering economic cooperation among Turkic States and strengthening their economic connections with the global community. Promoting mutually beneficial economic collaboration, enhancing intra-trade among Turkic States, and achieving economic diversification through the development of SMEs form the foundation and core of Turkic cooperation as a whole. He mentioned that at the 9th Summit of the OTS held in Samarkand in 2022, the Presidents of Turkic States adopted the OTS Trade Facilitation Strategy.
He briefed participants about recently signed documents: Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA), Memorandum on the Establishment of the Council of Central (National) Banks and Turkic Green Finance Council (TGFC) Memorandum which also aims to facilitate trade and investment.
Deputy Secretary General underlined that Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), which acts as a key platform for strengthening business relations across member states and highlighted the role of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF).
