OTS Media Team participated in Shusha Global Media Forum 2025

The Media Team of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) took part in the Shusha Global Media Forum held from 19 to 22 July 2025, under the theme “Digital Pathways: Strengthening Information and Media Resilience in the Age of AI”.

The program started on 19 July with an interactive meeting between H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Forum participants. This open Q&A session, now a traditional part of the Forum, offered a unique opportunity for participants to engage directly with the President on key regional developments and global media challenges.

The official opening of the Forum took place on 20 July in Shusha, featuring keynote remarks by Mr. Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration. His speech set the tone for the discussions ahead, emphasizing the importance of media literacy, digital resilience, and international cooperation in the age of artificial intelligence.

Throughout the two-day event, the OTS Media Team followed the Forum sessions and took part in a dedicated parallel session focused on the Organization of Turkic States. During this session, the team gave a presentation highlighting the OTS’s work and initiatives in general but particularly in the fields of media and information within the Turkic world.

The team also engaged with media representatives from Member and Observer States, as well as other Forum participants, to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for closer cooperation.

In addition to the working sessions, the Media Team joined various side events and cultural activities, including visits to Aghdam and Lachin, which provided further insight into the region’s cultural and historical context.

The Forum served as a meaningful platform to promote the work of the OTS in the media field, strengthen regional ties, and contribute to ongoing discussions on the future of journalism and information in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
