The Organization of Turkic States Secretariat organized online meetings of the Railway Working Group, Sub-Working Group on Digitalization and OTS Sister Ports experts meeting between 20-22 February 2023.
The meetings were participated by the officials and experts from Ministries of Transport, Customs Authorities, Railway Administrations as well as seaports and logistics centers of the member and observer countries.
During the meetings, experts held discussions and exchanged views on the implementation of the transport-related initiatives and development of transit potential of railways, digitalization of transport operations and enhancement of network among sea and dry ports and logistics centers in line with the Turkic World Vision 2040, OTS Strategy for 2022-2026 and Transport Connectivity Program.
Parties highlighted their readiness to implement “ePermit” project between the Member States and to that end agreed to develop a joint roadmap based on the experience of Türkiye and Uzbekistan who launched the said project during the 6th Meeting of Ministers in charge of Transport convened on 28 October 2022 in Tashkent.
Experts also discussed the possibilities of realizing joint projects on system integration and information-sharing solutions and running scheduled block trains between Sister Ports.
