The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev participated in the Central Asia International Health Investment Forum held under the auspices of H.E. Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic on 26-27 June 2024 in Bishkek.
The Forum was organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and attended by H.E. Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Akmaral Alnazarova, Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dr. Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe and other stakeholders from the Central Asian Countries, International Organizations and International Development Banks.
Secretary General delivered a speech at the opening session and underlined the importance of the investment in the health sector to build resilient healthcare systems capable of withstanding crisis, establishing public-private partnerships as well as progress in technology and innovation.
Ambassador Omuraliev further provided information on the activities of the OTS in the field of health and stressed that OTS is prioritizing the principles on enabling access quality healthcare services for all, preventing and controlling communicable/non-communicable diseases and achieving long-term sustainability in terms of health outcomes.
The two-days Forum will focus on the challenges being faced in the region related to healthcare and increasing the investment opportunities in Central Asia to achieve good-quality health services for all.
