During his working trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States held a meeting with H.E. Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on 15 December 2022 in Baku.
Minister Bayramov welcomed and extended his congratulations to the recently appointed Secretary General and expressed his confidence that the Secretary General’s activity will contribute to further enhancement of mutually beneficial cooperation within the Organization.
He stated that the OTS Summit in Samarkand demonstrated the how intensely the Turkic cooperation is developing. He stressed that strengthening the cooperation among the Turkic States remains as one of the foreign policy priorities of Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Omuraliev expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and praised the active role of Azerbaijan in the development of the Turkic unity.
He emphasized that the city of Shusha was declared as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2023 and in this context underlined the significance of the cultural events to be held in Shusha in the upcoming period.
The parties also stressed that joint efforts of the Turkic cooperation organizations, such as Turkic Academy, Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, TURKSOY and TURKPA within coordination of the OTS will contribute to strengthening the Turkic unity.
