On the sidelines of the 13th Meeting of Ministers in charge of Economy and Trade of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States met with H.E. Nurlan Baibazarov, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Prof. Dr. Bolat, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye and H.E. Daniiar Amangeldiev, Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the meeting the sides stressed the importance of “Digital Economy Partnership Agreement between the Governments of the Member States of the OTS” and expressed their intention to sign this document during the 11th meeting of the OTS Council of Heads of State to be held on 6 November 2024 in Bishkek.
Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev updated his counterparts on the OTS Secretariat's efforts to implement essential measures and mechanisms for economic integration, enhance trade cooperation within the Turkic region, and boost the competitiveness of OTS economies. Ambassador Omuraliev underscored the importance of adopting trade facilitation measures, including the activation of a Trade Facilitation Committee. Additionally, the significance of signing the “Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the Council of Central (National) Banks of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States", the inauguration of the “Turan” Special Economic Zone (TURANSEZ) and advancement on the finalization of the document for the establishment of the Turkic Green Finance Council (TGFC) were mentioned.
