On the margins of the First Informal Meeting of the Heads of Customs Administrations of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held on 15 April 2025 in Budapest, H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS, held bilateral discussions with Brigadier General Kristóf Péter Bakai, Deputy Commissioner for Customs and International Affairs, National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary.

The Parties exchanged views on the current state of customs cooperation within the OTS and discussed avenues for its further development. Particular attention was given to Hungary’s role in advancing OTS-EU customs cooperation, as well as the importance of facilitating knowledge exchange and capacity building in the customs field.
