The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev had a meeting with Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) H.E. Mr. Gerd Müller at the UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna on 3 April 2023.
Secretary General Omuraliev briefed his counterpart on the mandate and activities of the OTS and expressed the readiness of the OTS to develop institutional relations with the UNIDO in mutually beneficial areas.
Director General Müller noted that the UNIDO is also interested in cooperation with regional organizations. In this context, the Parties underlined their overlapping purposes and discussed the possible avenues of cooperation between the two Organizations.
The Secretary General and Director General for further development of the relations have agreed to establish a Working Group between the two organizations to prepare an MOU for developing concreate projects to attract foreign investment in the areas of sustainable and inclusive industrial development, renewable energy, climate protection, food security and trainings for the young professionals on IT and digitalization.
The parties further exchanged views on the other pressing issues of the regional and global agenda.
