President of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E. Baghdad Amreyev in Istanbul on 11 November 2021.
During the meeting, Secretary General B. Amreyev briefed the President on the preparations and agenda of the upcoming 8th Summit of Turkic Council to be held in Istanbul on 12 November 2021.
The Secretary General underscored that since joining the Organization, active participation of Uzbekistan in the activities of the Turkic Council has not only amplified the horizon of comprehensive cooperation within the framework of the Organization but also has sizably empowered the joint potential of the Turkic States.
President Mirziyoyev stressed that the Organization has emerged as a very important platform in the regional and international arena. The President also expressed his confidence that the 8th Summit will be a unique occasion for the Organization and will mark a great step forward towards further strengthening multifaceted cooperation among the Turkic States.
Parties discussed the issues of strengthening the relations among the Turkic Council Member and Observer States through advancing cooperation in various sectors, especially trade and economy, investments, and tourism.
Parties also emphasized the broad opportunities for cooperation in the transport and logistics sphere, bearing in mind the implementation of joint projects aimed at building up the transit potential of the Turkic Council Member and Observer States.
