The 5-day "Leadership in Health Emergencies" workshop, jointly organized by the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the World Health Organization (WHO), will commence at the Hilton Hotel Istanbul, with an inauguration ceremony attended by esteemed dignitaries on 6 May 2024.
H.E Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS, and Dr. Hans Kluge, Head of the WHO European Office, will preside over the opening ceremony, underscoring the critical importance of collaborative efforts in addressing health crises.
The program, launched two weeks ago in a hybrid format, builds on the Action Plan signed by Ambassador Omuraliev and Dr. Kluge in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 28 October 2023. Designed to enhance leadership skills in managing health emergencies, the program includes 12 hours of online courses followed by 5 days of intensive in-person training in Istanbul.
More than 20 healthcare professionals from OTS Member States are participating in this comprehensive training program, aimed at bolstering preparedness and response capabilities across the region.
